About The Club
The Club has been established for over 25 years and regular meetings are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in the New Parish Church Hall, Peterhead, between the beginning of September & the end of May. The membership consists of digital enthusiasts with a wide range of digital cameras of various makes, all of whom have a common interest in achieving good photographic results.
During the summer months, ( The beginning of June through to the end of August) a weekly evening is organised in the local area to provide members with a variety of photographic opportunities and experienced members of the club are always available to provide guidance, assistance and advice to less experienced members when required.
We also present a Gallery Exhibition of our work carried out throughout the year in the New Parish Church Hall, during the Scottish Week Celebrations in Peterhead.
Our main objectives are to assist our members in the improvement of their photographic skills by organising competitions within the club and against other clubs, learning to critique & score our own images also. On nights where competitions are not the focus area, we run question & answer, practical improvement and editing techniques workshops at levels dictated by the group on the evening.
To further enhance our collective skills, talks by local professional photographers who share their knowledge and experience are regularly featured.
We welcome members of all ages and are happy to help beginners with their new hobby. Children under 16 are encouraged to join and participate in club activities and must be accompanied by an adult.
